I began writing for newspapers while I was Marketing Communications Director at the Derson Group. My boss asked me to submit an article to the Chicago Tribune’s “Working” section and that one was followed by twenty more. My work for the Tribune led to my being interviewed by an editor at the Daily Southtown for a piece they were doing on job search. I suggested that I write the piece myself and was soon writing three to four 1,500 word features for them a month. Currently, I have my own career advice column in the Daily Southtown and Star called “Dear Lalli.” I also write Internet articles for CareerOnline and magazine pieces for The Business Marketing Association and others.
