Client: Chicago Theological SeminaryObjective: To encourage news coverage of the 150th Anniversary and particularly the Ministerial Institute. Strategy: To focus on the 40th reunion of CTS class who participated in the Selma March with Martin Luther King. The participants in that march were a wonderful illustration of how an education at CTS was a transforming experience and how students who went to CTS made major contributions to society. The Ministerial Institute was then presented as an opportunity for students today to experience this kind of transformative education for themselves. Results: The UCC News did a front page story on the reunion and the seminary as did several other papers. These articles usually included a photo from the CTS archives showing a very young Jesse Jackson Sr. lunching in Selma with his CTS classmates before the march. |
